People, Energy and Environment Development Association (PEEDA) successfully concluded a four-day Capacity Building Training on Foundational Knowledge on Climate Change and Gender Dimensions from 18–21 February 2026 in Lumbini, Nepal, under the Regional Enhancement for Climate Adaptation and Partnership (RECAP) Project.

The training brought together over 29 participants from civil society organizations, local government and community groups. The program aimed to strengthen participants’ understanding of the science of climate change, its impacts on communities, and the importance of integrating gender equality, disability, and social inclusion (GEDSI) perspectives into climate action.

Throughout the training, participants were engaged in a series of interactive sessions designed to encourage discussion, knowledge sharing, and reflect on practical ways to apply climate and gender-responsive approaches within their organizational and community work.

A Climate Gallery was also organized as part of the training, providing a visual learning platform where participants could explore different aspects of climate change, including its causes, impacts, and potential solutions. The gallery helped translate complex climate information into accessible and engaging learning materials.

The training is a part of PEEDA’s broader effort under the RECAP project to enhance the capacity of partner organizations to address climate change. PEEDA extends its sincere appreciation to all partner organizations, resource persons, and participants for their active engagement and commitment to advancing inclusive and locally grounded climate resilience.
