The dissemination workshop “Energizing Kitchens: The Shift to Electric Cooking in Nepal,” hosted by PEEDA on December 18, 2024, brought together diverse stakeholders to share insights from our groundbreaking electric cooking initiative. This initiative, supported by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) Small Grants, demonstrates the transformative potential of clean cooking solutions in Nepal’s rural communities.

The initiative has empowered 1,000+ households through innovative blended financing and comprehensive Municipal Energy Planning. The workshop brought together diverse stakeholders – from local government representatives to community beneficiaries – showcasing successful implementation strategies, community impact, and the way forward for Nepal’s clean cooking future. This initiative demonstrates the viable pathway for scaling electric cooking solutions nationwide, from improved indoor air quality to sustainable after-sales services.
