People, Energy and Environment Development Association (PEEDA) along with partners Kathmandu Alternative Power and Energy Group (KAPEG) and University of Bristol had implemented Electric Cooking Outreach (ECO) project in Solukhumbhu and South Lalitpur districts that ended back in December 2021. The research project was conducted under the financial support from Modern Energy Cooking Services (MECS) programme. Thus, PEEDA is conducting a follow-up study in Necha Salyan, Solukhumbhu, an off-grid site to understand the project’s impact and assess the interest on both ECO participating and non-participating households.

The objectives of the study:

  • The follow up study will focus to find the change in e-cooking practices among the ECO participants.
  • The study will also examine the impact of e-cooking appliances in non-ECO participants and understand the awareness for further local uptakes.

Project Duration: December 2022 to March 2023
