Last week from 17th to 21th April 2017, Biraj Gautam (CEO) and Tapendra Chand (Project Officer) of PEEDA participated in the “Climate Change Adaptation Partners Workshop organized by Bread for the World (BftW) at Park Village Hotel, Kathmandu. The representative of different organizations such as ICIMOD, SAHAS-Nepal, RRN, UMN, Li-Bird, PEEDA from Nepal, LEDARS, CCDB, CDP, NABOLOK from Bangladesh, LAYA, IIRD, Pipal Tree, CREATE/THANAL from India and one participant each from Indonesia and Pakistan participated in the workshop. Moreover, there was field visit on 19th April to climate resilient mountain village located in Mahadevsthan VDC in Kavrepalanchowk district. The workshop provided many insights on climate change and risk projections, Risk assessment tools such as DKH, PACDR, etc., including gender aspects into RA methodology, climate smart agriculture, eco-system based adaptation, etc. Moreover, there was poster presentation by different organizations from Nepal, India and Bangladesh and frequent group discussion.
