Mr. Bharat Prasad Chaulagain joined PEEDA as a Climate Change and Disaster Risk Reduction (CC/DRR) Officer from January 2024. Mr. Chaulagain holds a Master’s degree in Natural Resource Development and a Bachelor of Science in Forestry from Agriculture and Forestry University, Hetauda, Nepal. He has more than 5 years of professional experience, particularly in Forestry, Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM), Climate Change Adaptation, Biodiversity Conservation, Natural Resource Management, Watershed Management, Livelihood, and GESI, etc., in remote parts of Nepal. Before joining PEEDA, he worked as a Cluster Climate Coordinator in the UKAid-funded program NCCSP-2 (Nepal Climate Change Support Program Phase-2) through Mott MacDonald Ltd. Before this, he had worked on the USAID-funded BHAKARI Program (Building Hope along the Karnali River Basin), Adaptation Fund-funded CAFS-Karnali (Climate Change Adaptation for Food Security) Project, and at the Division Forest Office as well. He has expertise in overall planning, implementation, and management of multi-sector community resilience projects and activities.
