Dr. Ramesh Kumar Maskey
Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ramesh Kumar Maskey completed an intermediate in Electrical Engineering and has a double ME in Civil Hydropower Engineering and Resources Engineering from the USSR and Germany, respectively. He holds a Doctorate in Civil Engineering from Germany. He was a lecturer in IOE-TU and a hydropower engineer at Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) (1987-1994). After working (1994-2006) at the University of Karlsruhe in Germany, Dr. Maskey returned to Nepal to take responsibility as a full professor of civil engineering at the School of Engineering at Kathmandu University (KU) in March 2006. Since then, he has served the nation again through his different academic and administrative positions at KU. He served as a member of the Subject Committees, Faculty Board, and Research Committee of the School of Engineering at KU. He is a prolific patron of the Robotics Club of KU. With more than thirty-five years of professional experience in different organizations, his research, development, and consulting (RDC) interests cover various civil hydraulics, hydropower, and renewable energy technologies. He is the author of numerous research articles published in peer-reviewed journals. He is a member of Advisory Boards of different international conferences and a member of the Editorial Board of prestigious national and international journals of high impact factor. Prof. Maskey is a former member of the executive committee of the National Committee for UNESCO and the Coordinator of the UNESCO-Science chapter under the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology. He is an Academician of the Nepal Academy of Science and Technology, President of the Goethe Center for Cooperation Partnership, and an immediate past President of the Nepal German Academic Association. He is currently active in building the Water and Energy Infrastructure Research Laboratory at KU.
