Mr. Govinda Prasad Devkota

Mr. Govinda Prasad Devkota is currently the Chairperson of PEEDA, an expert in the renewable energy technology in general and biogas in particular. He holds Master degree in Economics, and Post Graduate Diploma in Environmental Science & Technology from the Netherlands. He has more than 30 years of experience in this sector. At present, he is working as a freelance consultant and had already worked for several organisations such as UNDP, ADB Philippines, ICRC Manila through Practical Action UK, GIZ Nepal, Practical Action Nepal, Kingdom Bio energy UK, Palangthai Bangkok, Pioneer Carbon UK, Fullwell Mill Ltd. UK, SNV, AEPC and many national organisations. He has published and authored several books on biogas, micro-hydro and renewable energy technology and more than seven dozens of RET related articles in English as well as in Nepali (both technical and management) in several national and international journals, magazines, reports and seminar proceedings. He was awarded Deependra Science and Technology Youth Award – 1985 from NAST and National Talent Award – 2001 from Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Civil Aviation and honoured by NBPA for his outstanding works on renewable energy technology especially biogas.
