Mr. Rupendra Poudel

Rupendra Poudel is a seasoned finance and banking professional with over three decades of experience spanning accounting, financial management, administration, and leadership roles in both national and international organizations. He began his career at Butwal Power Company Ltd. (1992–1998), where he worked across multiple finance functions including cashier, bookkeeper, and accountant for various projects. He later served as Administrative Assistant in the UNDP assisted LGP project (1998–2000), focusing on accounting and financial management. His expertise expanded further during his tenure as Account Officer in the Bagmati Watershed Project (EU) (2001–2002), and subsequently at Gurkha Enterprises, UK (2003–2007), where he managed finances for diverse businesses including hotels, restaurants, and trading ventures. In Nepal’s financial sector, Mr. Poudel held directorial positions at Reliable Finance Ltd. (2008–2009) and has since served on the boards of several development banks, including Manakamana Development Bank, Yeti Development Bank, Siddhartha Development Bank, and Mahalaxmi Development Bank Ltd. (2010–present). His board memberships reflect a strong track record in governance, strategic oversight, and sectoral leadership within Nepal’s banking industry. Academically, he holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Management) degree, preceded by foundational studies in commerce and accounting. His career demonstrates a consistent focus on financial stewardship, institutional development, and cross sector expertise, making him a highly experienced professional in Nepal’s finance and banking landscape.
