The project aims to enhance adaptive capabilities of targeted communities viz. women and children, marginalized commuities, Dalits and ethnic minorities against adverse effects of climate change. Moreover, it also aims to enhance agri-entrepreneurship skills, climate -resilient agricultural techniques and innovation in irrigation methodologies among targeted communities. The project is currently implemented in Ward No. 1 & 2 of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality and Ward No. 3, 6 and 7 of Baiteshwor Rural Municipality of Dolakha district. The project is funded by Bread for the World, Germany.

The intended impact of the project is that “ the project contributes to the climate resilience of communities in rural Nepal.” In order to realize the overarching developmental objective, the project will follow the “sustainable livelihood approach” that primarily focusses on reducing vulnerability and enhancing livelihood within key livelihood areas of the local communities mainly agriculture and livestock backed up by an intense capacity building to improve capacity of the communities in adopting sustainable livelihood options.

The main objectives of the project are as follows:
Objective 1: The capacity of CBOs as effective advocates of climate issues is improved.
Objective 2: The livelihood of targeted smallholder farmers is improved.
