PEEDA recently conducted an experience sharing workshop on 27 September 2024 at the Office of Baiteswor Rural Municipality in Dolakha district that brought together local leaders to boost electric cooking adoption in rural areas. The practical session tackled real challenges – from improving power supply to making electric stoves more affordable for all families. Community representatives shared success stories and worked out solutions for better electrical setups in homes.

“Expert presents benefits of transitioning to electric cooking as community representatives take notes.”

The workshop went beyond just talk – it set clear plans to help more households switch to cleaner, safer cooking. By focusing on community needs and local support, the initiative is making clean cooking a reality for rural Nepal. This simple change promises better health for families and a cleaner village environment. With strong local backing and practical solutions, electric cooking is becoming an achievable goal for many more rural homes.

“Local officials review electric cookstove implementation plans during PEEDA’s workshop.”

The workshop is a part of the project titled “Promoting Electric Cooking in Nepalese Households”, supported by IKI, Germany.
