PEEDA initiates the preparation process for Local Adaptation Plan of Action at Gaurishankar Rural Municipality, Dolakha
As a part of the preparation process for “Local Adaptation Plan of Action”, PEEDA has successfully organized the community sensitization cum Participatory Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment (PVCA) at different wards (ward no 1 to 9) of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality, Dolakha. It was conducted from May 31, 2023 to June 11, 2023 (Jestha 17- 28, 2080). The event was supported with the enthusiastic participation of local level government representatives including the Ward Chairperson, Ward Secretary, Newly elected representatives, Members of Ward Committee, representatives of vulnerable groups and vulnerable communities including the intellectuals of the society along with other stakeholders.
The main objective of the Participatory Vulnerability and Capacity Assessment was to analyze the climate vulnerability and capacity assessment of the respective wards and identify local level adaptation options for the respective places/ communities with respect to the corresponding risks and hazards. As always, PEEDA intends to keep moving forward in improving the climate resilience of local communities.
