In April 2019, two engineers from the UK travelled to Nepal to assist with the project funded by Energize Nepal to develop a locally-manufactured, micro-hydro Turgo Turbine. Joe Butchers is a PhD student from the University of Bristol who has been a key member of the project from the beginning. A two days review and planning meeting of Climate Change and Livelihood Project was conducted on March 24-25, 2019 that involved central level staffs and social mobilizers.  PEEDA has been working on the implementation of a solar powered cold storage facility that can greatly benefit small farm holders by allowing them to keep agricultural produce fresh for longer using solar energy. This can improve their livelihood and create local employment opportunities, whilst encouraging sustainability, reducing food waste, and increasing the efficiency of food production. With this background, PEEDA has organized a workshop to facilitate the discussion on the utilization of such technologies and for PEEDA to share their experience. People, Energy and Environment Development Association (PEEDA) has successfully conducted the workshop on Climate Change and Sustainable Livelihood in 4 VDCs of Dolakha district. The project activities were carried out in Mirge, Namdu, Jungu and Thulopatal (former) VDCs from 25th October to 1st November 2018. One of the main objectives of the workshop was to prepare Local Adaptation Plan of Action (LAPA), where 88 females were actively participating among 124 total participants.
